Getting into the thick of things. Literally.

So are we less busy now than we were in December, right before the holidays? Um, no. I'm not anyway. But, according to the TV commercials I'm seeing, a great many of us will decide to throw a new workout routine into our schedules, to work off that holiday eating, and whatever other bulges we have, for which we've grown tired of making excuses.

One night last week while at the gym myself, I commented to the girl running the childcare room that I've never seen that parking lot so full, so late in the evening. She said, "Oh yeah, it's January. People come out of the woodwork in January. It will be better in a couple of weeks as those good intentions drop in priority."

Truer words probably were never spoken.

But, just for fun, here's the top 5 gyms/centers/facilities here in KC with good children's resources, activities, and babysitting, in case you plan to keep your intentions from falling through the floor. Because not everybody is interested in those workout classes where you lift your infant over your head until your arms are trembling so bad you're afraid you're going to drop him! Besides, most of us want to get away from our kids for a half hour.
