Celebrate Independence Day!

This Saturday is our country's celebrated birthday, July 4th. I have to admit, it kind of snuck up on me this year. There I was enjoying the end of school and Memorial Day weekend and warm, sunny days, when suddenly "warm" became "bilstering" and "sunny" became "Hades." 

Even though we're supposedly getting a break from the crazy high temperatures of last week, it's still going to be pretty warm, so finding things to do to celebrate Independence Day inside is always a good idea!

Our friends at Family Education have just the thing - coloring pages and art projects!

But here's a few more air conditioned activities, just for fun.

• Make a red, white and blue dessert with white cake, strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream
• Use red, white and blue construction paper and large popsicle sticks to make fans
• For the really adventurous, make a Star Spangled Flag Banner!
• Bake sugar cookies and decorate with red and blue sprinkles and frosting
