Oh alright, then. Party Poopers.

 Here's the roundup of things for which you can take the family out and about. Be careful, though, it's going to be a scorcher of a weekend, with heat indexes above 100.

But first, I must mention that it's Sales Tax Holiday weekend on the Missouri side. Anything that can be deemed related to "Back to School" including clothing, school supplies, even computers and peripherals, are tax free, in all Missouri locations. This is the weekend that Kansas stores consider just going on holiday (or maybe they could just get on board, huh Kansas? How hard could it be??) 

 Ahem, sorry. Here's the goodies.

• First Friday movie night "The Wizard of Oz"
• Festival of Butterflies - Powell Gardens
• The Schlitterbahn water park is open! A great way to beat the heat.
• 57th annual Cat Fanciers Cat Show - Overland Park Convention Center (I sneezed just typing that one.)
• KC Royals vs Oakland weekend series (baseball is almost over for the season, kids!)
• KC T-Bones vs. Gary Southshore Railcats (they sound tough.)
• "Art of the Brick" Lego exhibit at Crown Center
• Fly Me to the Moon - Union Station Extreme Screen
